Title: Process and Operational Analytics Engineer
Plan and establish sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble Solar Photovoltaic (PV) projects, promote efficient utilization of appropriate processes and procedures, Review Solar PV project schedules, designs and engineering specifications, orders, and related information to plan the development of the project more efficiently. Estimate production costs, cost saving methods, and the effects of system design changes on expenditures and project costs for management review, action, and control. Applying mathematical models towards optimizing processes and establishing efficient procedures to increase profit, Establish specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for different types of Solar PV projects and provide recommendations for improvement to management. Utilize advanced engineering economics principles such as financial decision making, investment decision rules, capital markets and risk analysis, mean variance portfolio analysis for management. Coordinate and implement quality control objectives, activities, or procedures to resolve solar production problems, maximize solar production reliability, and minimize costs. Communicate with management and user personnel to develop project standards, standardized processes and procedures for the different development stages of the Solar PV project. Perform statistical analysis of project development towards obtaining statistical models to predict required resources and man power, Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel (man power), material, and utilities towards optimizing the production of the Solar project. Analyze projects to develop statistical models to predict the size, design, procurement and construction durations for projects. Confer with clients, vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, product and production specifications, manufacturing capabilities, or project status and communicate to management. Apply statistical methodology such as linear and non-linear models, regression analysis, network optimization, integer and mixed integer linear models based on the acquired production data related to the Solar PV projects to determine cost effective and optimal solutions using production standards. Study operations sequence, material flow, functional statements, organization charts, and project information to determine worker functions and responsibilities and provide efficient solutions. Apply queueing theory and simulation using computer software to simulate operation sequences. Manage upstream & downstream value-added flows of materials, and systems. Establish and provide inventory models in accordance with supply chain management procedures and for all equipment and material procured by the company for different types of Solar PV projects. Record or oversee recording of information to ensure currency of engineering drawings and documentation of production problems for the company’s portfolio (+$80 million pf projects with more in development). Initiate and manage database structures for data recording of energy production, costs, among other significant performance indicators to provide clean and precise information for further analysis. Analyze production data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives of finished product in terms of design and solar energy production standards. Direct workers engaged in product measurement, inspection, and testing activities to ensure quality control and reliability of the solar development project. Formulate sampling procedures and designs and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data in accordance with the company’s established solar energy production standards. Schedule energy production estimates based on production forecasts, material substitutions, storage and handling facilities, and maintenance requirements for the solar system.
The candidate must have a Master’s in Industrial Engineering or directly related field and one year of experience in: Establishing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for different phases of project development, and provide recommendations for improvement; Managing upstream & downstream value-added flows of materials, and systems; Performing statistical analysis of project development towards obtaining statistical models to predict required resources and man power; Applying mathematical models towards optimizing processes and establishing efficient procedures to increase profit,; Analyzing projects to develop statistical models to predict the size, design, procurement and construction durations for projects; Initiating and managing database structures for accurate analysis.
